Marwah AlMugait (b. 1981, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) is a multimedia artist whose conceptual practice centers on photography, film, and performance. Her work encompasses a wide variety of themes but focuses on overlooked aspects of life, particularly with regards to issues of cultural environment and the human condition. She investigates how one's internal state is informed by engagement with the external world and how this is manifested in bodily reactions. In recent years, she has been exploring performance arts, which stems from her interest in the human subconscious and the ways in which civilizations have used body and voice to communicate deep emotions throughout history.
"As humans we are unaware of the connections and observations effects in creating our own realities. Mostly, how our absorption of the external collective space molds the internal world in us."
Marwah focuses on exposition: shedding light on things that people overlook or discard. Her work encompasses a wide variety of themes but embodies the desire to explore the gap between different ways of communicating. Through different body of works, she emphasizes the fluidity and turbulence by drawing from a wide range of technologies and a heightened sense of awareness, Marwah invites her audience to pay attention to the pauses in human interaction.

"Throughout examining motion in videography, I was persistently inquisitive in how the light and darkness along with reflection and transparency can form an alternative reality. It channels our expression, and constructs narratives of the unknown, through what could be described as an “intangible form of art”; that might trigger accumulated sets of emotions."

"My work is an endeavor aims to penetrate into the personal comprehension of its viewer, stating art as a universal language of all time."
